From our exclusive Pasadena Cat's Meow series. The most western boundary of the Pasadena area was once the home of Lipin’s Corner (circa 1923). Bought in 1917 from Glen Burnie physician Dr. Thomas Brayshaw, Lipin’s Corner was built in the early 1900s by John and Augusta Lipin. The white clapboard building with green and red accents was run as a general merchandise store, gasoline station, and auto repair garage. The red light in the top window was used by the FAA for marking flight patterns between Washington DC and New York. Original mail service to Lipin’s was delivered from three post offices – Glen Burnie, Millersville, and Pasadena. Later, mail service was from Pasadena only. In later years, Lipin’s opened a popular seafood restaurant on the site. In 1944, the Lipin’s sold the store.
